The Second Amendment Law Center has signed on to a brief with the Second Amendment Foundation urging the Supreme Court to review the case of Duncan v. Bonta.
The case challenges California’s ban on magazines holding over ten rounds and has bounced up and down the Ninth Circuit and even to the Supreme Court before being remanded in the wake of the Bruen decision. The battle stretches back nearly a decade now.
“The Supreme Court looks for certain characteristics in cases it will hear,” notes 2ALC President Chuck Michel. “Duncan checks all those boxes and is just the kind of case the 2A community needs to clarify Bruen once and for all.” The importance of the highest court hearing a case like Duncan will have impacts that will reverberate throughout the entire country and every circuit. This case could be the next landmark Second Amendment case.
